  1. ATTACK ROYE AIRFIELD
  2.  
  3. When the Me 262 was originally demon-
  4. strated to Hitler in November, 1943, he 
  5. ordered that it be used as a fast bomber.  
  6. Although this revolutionary aircraft 
  7. could have been put into service much 
  8. sooner as an interceptor (the role for 
  9. which it was designed), the Fuhrer's 
  10. requested modifications caused the
  11. production of the 262 to be delayed.  It 
  12. was not until the Spring of 1944 that the 
  13. first Me 262 Sturmvogel bomber units were 
  14. established.  And in October, 1944, Adolf
  15. Galland finally got his own fighter unit 
  16. of Me 262s.

  18.                     YOUR MISSION
  19.  
  20. As part of an Me 262 Sturmvogel unit, you
  21. are to attack the Allied-held airfield at
  22. Roye.  You'll be leading a schwarm of 
  23. four 262s, each armed with two 551-lb. 
  24. bombs.  Be alert for enemy fighter cover 
  25. in the area.
